Puppies leave for their new homes.....

I am often asked........ "Are you sad to see them go?"

No, of course I worry about them, but then I see the joy that they bring to their new homes & the love that they receive & can't be sad about that. Kirra and "Bonnie" were meant for each other............
Puppies are all spoken for, thank you for your interest.

My how time flies......

At 6 weeks

At 6 weeks the pups are pretty independant. They are eating a normal diet though scramble to get some milk from mum....whenever she stands still long enough.

They now live outside, in their run of a night & spend their days wandering around the yard. They manage steps with no problems and get into all sorts of trouble.

The little spot on the head is called a "lozenge" so we have nick named him "Strepsil".

They chew EVERYTHING and toes are their favourite. They play constantly and this is an important learning process. This coming week they will be immunized and microchipped.

They will spend the next two weeks growing a little more and learning social skills from each other and their mother, an important reason why they are too young to leave home yet. This will help to develop healthy happy dogs with good manners.

Food for thought........

For those of you that have never had a litter........

At 4 weeks, the puppies are eating solids & drinking from a bowl. Their milk teeth are down & are very sharp.

Tilly no longer cleans up their mess, that leaves me.......oh well......that's life!

They play with each other, their mother & their grandmother & delight in playing tug of war with my jeans whenever I venture outside.

They love attention & lay blissfully when having their tummies tickled.

Their nails were trimmed at 2 weeks & will be done again shortly. This is a lifetime job.

They now spend the best part of the day outside giving them the space to play & explore a new world (as opposed to my laundry.....)

They still come inside of a night as the temperatures can drop below 0 degrees.

INDEPENDENCE DAY......Aussie style

OMG! I sat in the laundry with my little bag of mince and hand fed my babies......they turned into ravenous monsters growling and climbing all over me to get to the MEAT.....I thought at one stage when I had three puppies with a finger in each of their mouths and their giant teeth gnawing at my flesh that I would not get out alive !!!!! They then dropped off to sleep and there has not been a peep out them since but I know that while they sleep they are working on their worst plot yet...to create the scurge of all dog owners.......POOP!
